Nursing Admission Exam Information (HESI)

Please use the information below when studying or scheduling the nursing admission exam (HESI)

MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT EARLY

The exam will be offered on individual computers, pre-register and pay online. Appointments are most weekdays at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.  Please call 615-898-2863 to make an appointment.  Additional copies of your exam results can be sent to other schools upon request from https://evolve.elsevier.com for a charge of $15.

You will need to bring an unexpired government-issued picture ID, driver’s license, passport, or MTSU student ID card.

You will need to take the Complete HESI Exam (except Physics).

Students can retake the exam after a 14-day waiting period.  Students must score a 75 or higher in both the Anatomy and Physiology and Math sections. For Fall 2026, there is no minimum composite score required for admission.

Nursing Admission Exam (HESI) Requirements for Fall 2026

You will need to take the Complete HESI Exam- all parts (except Physics). Students must score 75 or higher in the following areas:

Mathematics, Anatomy

Physiology

For Fall 2026, there is no minimum composite score required for admission. While there is no minimum score required for the English portion of the exam, the English score will still be considered during the application review process.

You will need to bring a photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. You will need to take the Complete HESI Exam – all parts. Students must score a 75 or higher on the following portions:  Mathematics, Anatomy and Physiology.  The composite (overall) score must also be at least 75.  The exam costs $85.00 and takes approximately 4 hours to complete.  Contact MTSU Testing Services at 615-898-2863 if you have questions.
